Jay Jaboneta was named by Yahoo! Southeast Asia last June 12, 2011 as one of the 7 Modern-Day Filipino Heroes for his involvement in the project Zamboanga Funds for Little Kids which is now renamed as the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation. He was also named by the Students & Campuses section of Manila Bulletin as one of the 10 Most Inspiring Filipinos for the Year 2011.
His work with the project has been featured by Reader’s Digest Asia / Indonesia / India, Associated Press (AP), CNN, BusinessWeek, Forbes, The Huffington Post, ABS-CBN, GMA-7, TV-5, and a host of other international and Philippine-based news organizations..
Jay is also a Power30Under30 Honoree of New York’s Apex Society, a Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipino Regional Awardee & National Finalist and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Damers and Clarions of Cotabato City (where he was born) and the Pillar of Hope Award by Eton International School. He was also recently named as one of the Top 25 Heroes for Better of Western Union.
He was the first Filipino to become a Global Fellow of the nonprofit venture capital fund Acumen. He worked with them in Lahore, Pakistan to market Pharmagen Water, a joint venture between Pharmagen Ltd and Acumen to provide clean, safe, affordable drinking water to the underprivileged.
He was the first and former Director for New Media under the Presidential Communications Operations Office and started the team that managed Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III’s official website and social networking presence.

Jay is also the Consultant on Disruptive Technologies, Resource Mobilization, and Social Innovation of the De La Salle - College of St. Benilde as well as a Consultant on Social Media Strategy & Marketing for some companies and nonprofits in the Philippines, the United States, Europe and Asia.
Jay is a regular speaker on social media, digital technology, youth leadership, and the art of pitching. He spoke in TEDxMontpellier in France last January 20, 2012, TEDxKinnaird in Pakistan last February 16, 2013, and TEDxBritishSchoolManila in March 12, 2016.
He also spoke in the Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York last February 2014 and also at Facebook’s Sales and Marketing convention in San Francisco, USA in April 2014.
